How to check control panel for damage

Step 1 - Access the back of the control panel

Remove the 4 screws and the back casing of the control panel.

Step 2 - Check the PCB for water damage or mould

Look for any black or grey marks. 

Step 3 - Check for scratches

If this is scratched, you will see a copper colour.

Step 4 - Check for battery leaks

If there is a leak, you will see a white or blue crystalline material around the end of the batteries or battery compartment.

Step 5 - Check for burn marks

If there are burn marks, these could appear as black marks.

Step 6 - Check the battery contact springs for any corrosion
