How to check the gear rack of your Autodoor is in good condition

The gear rack is located on the back of the door. It looks like a bumpy track, on which the motor runs and pushes open the door.

Step 1 - Remove the door by unscrewing the 4 screws on the back of the door rail. You will need to take the door off the coop to do this.

Step 2 - Check the gear rack is flat, clean and has no damaged teeth. The gear rack is visible on the back of the door.

Step 3 - Check that it is not warped or bent

Step 4 - Check that it is not chipped

Step 5 - You should check that it is not melted
