How can I maximise my Autodoor battery life?

The control panel includes functionality designed to optimise battery life. Whilst we recommend using the provided adaptor to power your Smart Autodoor to achieve the best performance, it is also possible to use battery power if you prefer.

Battery Life when not connected to Wi-Fi - 6 months

If your Autodoor is battery powered and not connected to the Wi-Fi, then you can expect minimum 6 months battery life.

Battery Life when connected to Wi-Fi

If your Autodoor is battery powered and connected to Wi-Fi, you can choose between two modes. This determines how frequently it checks for and carries out new commands. The less it checks, the less battery it uses.

Notification + Control - 2–3 Months

Battery life in this mode is approximately 2–3 months. This mode allows you to control the Autodoor, which checks for commands every 10 minutes. In this mode, you can further optimise the battery life further by using overnight Deep Sleep. Your Autodoor will open and close as programmed but won’t check for new commands between the hours you set at night.

Notification only - 6 months

Battery life in this mode is approximately 6 months. You will get notifications when your door has opened and closed. The door checks for new settings twice a day.

Top Tips

For instant response from your smart devices, switch to mains power. This allows you to use your Smart Autodoor without any waiting or worrying about battery life.
