How to Avoid Clogging - Smart Feeder
Clogging can occur in all feeders because chicken feed absorbs moisture, causing it to clump together.
However, you can avoid this by following a few simple steps:
- Place the feeder under cover and not out in the open.
- Provide a side cover in addition to an overhead cover, as wind can blow rain into the feed ports.
- Check the feeder daily during very humid weather.
- Store bags of feed in dry, sealed containers to keep it dry before adding it to the feeder.
- Regularly remove the base of the feeder to clean any accumulated feed dust.
