The feed level on my Smart Chicken Feeder looks different to the feed level on my app
The window on the Smart Chicken Feeder provides a quick visual indication for the feed level, but only to a certain extent. The reason you may feel the visual indication looks different to the feed level in the app, is because there is a built-in sensor that is utilised to provide the feed level stated in the app.
Connecting your smart feeder to the Omlet app via Wi-Fi enables full functionality feed level monitoring capabilities, this is because a sensor is housed on the underside of the feeder rim, providing regular feed level measurements that are relayed back to the app during the hourly check-ins.
These levels are then calculated into an estimated 'days of feed remaining' providing you have filled in your flock details in the device details section of the app. The Omlet App will also send you notifications reminding to refill your feeder, meaning your chickens should never go hungry!
To ensure the most accurate readings are captured, we would advise wiping the sensor after you have filled up the feeder, to rid any dust as show in the imagery below.
