How to check if the crush sensors are corroded

To check the crush sensors for corrosion, you need to access them. The crush sensors are located in the crush bar.

Step 1 - Remove the crush sensor cover caps.

You may have to remove the door from your coop to do this.

Step 2 - Then undo the screws holding the crush sensor bar in place

Be careful not to lose the little screws and springs.

Step 3 - Visually check the red crush sensor buttons

Ensure the sensors are not covered in dirt. Make sure they are not corroded or damaged and that no wires have come loose.

Here is how the sensors look in good condition:

Step 6 - Push the buttons to make sure they work

The four small red buttons on the circuits should make a clicking sound when you push them. This is not a loud sound, but rather a sensation that you feel. If you don't feel the click, then the buttons are stuck.

If they are stuck, the buttons are broken. Do not put any lubrication on the buttons, this will not fix them.
