Does cold weather affect the batteries?

The recommended operating temperature range for alkaline batteries is -18° C (0° F) to 55° C (131°F). In extended cold conditions, it can extend the life of the batteries if you remove and warm the batteries (in your pocket) every now and then. 

The Autodoor is designed and tested to work as low as -4 degrees fahrenheit (-20 degrees celsius).
